In 2009, the California State Legislature and the Schwarzenegger Administration enacted devastating changes to the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act. They reduced the legal rights and services for people with developmental disabilities in California and seriously eroded the historic and unique promise of the Lanterman Act for all of California's citizens with developmental disabilities.
