You are invited to paticipate in CARE Parent Network's
Early Education Council
CARE Parent Network's Early Education Council (EEC) serves as a clearinghouse for
information about services and supports for children with special needs (including developmental, behavioral, and health needs). The EEC also works, through family and professional education and outreach, to increase
inclusion of children with special needs in community programs in Contra Costa.
We provide a number of services including:
- Workshops and training for professionals in early education, early intervention and related fields; topics include navigating the Early Start and special education preschool systems, increasing the effectiveness of early intervention through family support, and promoting inclusion of children with special needs.
- Outreach presentations to help identify children (birth through 5 years) who might be eligible for early intervention or special education preschool services.
- Meetings of the Early Education Council to facilitate information and exchange and coordination among professionals working in early education, early intervention and related fields.
- Meetings of the CARE Parent Network Inclusion Team to develop community education and outreach programs to promote inclusion of children with special needs in typical community settings (e.g. childcare, preschool programs, recreation programs) and to help parents access programs.
- Comprehensive information for parents, professionals and the community about early intervention, early education, preschool and related programs, including a monthly educational resources newsletter and training calendar and "Early Childhood Connections," a guide to services for infants and toddlers with special needs.
Contact our Early Education Coordinator at (925) 313-0999, x 107 for more
information about any of our services, to schedule an in-service presentation by one of our staff, to request our participation in a community event, or to be placed on the electronic mailing list for the Early Education Council.
