In-Home and Community-Based Therapist

Contra Costa ARC is a non-profit human service agency dedicated to serving children at risk, and children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Lynn Center is Contra Costa ARC's Early Intervention Program and Preschool for children with special needs from birth to six years of age. Lynn Center also provides therapeutic services for families with children up to age 18 and adults.

Lynn Center - Parent Child Support Services (PCSS) therapist provides Mental Health Services to parents, adolescents, and children including, but not limited to, the following: parenting education; individual therapy for either parent or child; and family therapy. The therapist works with clients in different settings including our clinic/office, the client's home, schools, and in the community (e.g., parks, restaurants, and other age-appropriate venues). The therapist conducts clinical assessments with each potential client in order to determine needs, after which goals for therapy are established.  There are times when the therapist may need to collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, and teachers in order to best support clients. The therapist maintains all documentation which includes treatment planning, progress notes, and keeping phone logs.  Referrals to other community resources are made when necessary.  Family Partners are available to help support clients as needed. 

Services include, but are not limited to: 

  • Child/Parent Dyadic Therapy
  • Individual Therapy
  • Case Management/Linkage
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Collateral Services
  • Assistance with food, clothing, diapers, etc. (when funds are available)

Qualifications: LCSW, MFT or Psychologist. Applicants must be licensed or license eligible (supervised hours completed). Interns will be considered, and are responsible for securing outside supervision.

We strive to promote healthier patterns of behavior in children, parents and families. Therapist must have the ability and be willing to provide clinical assessment and intervention services in home and community settings. Experience working with children under the age of six with behavioral and emotional problems, with an emphasis on family work preferred. Experience working with children 6-12, teenagers, adults, and facilitating psycho-educational parent groups is also desirable. Must be open to a variety of treatment modalities tailored to meet the needs of the individual child/parents/family involved. Work history should include case management, family work in the natural environment, outpatient individual play therapy, family counseling, and group work experience. Therapist must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to interact effectively with other agencies and physicians. Strong organizational skills. Must be a flexible team player, willing to work as part of a treatment team utilizing support from the greater community. Experience with Medi-Cal paperwork preferred.

Must meet State licensing requirements involving health screening and DOJ clearance. Driver's license, good driving record and use of a vehicle required (mileage reimbursement provided).

Hours: Monday – Friday daytime hours, 20 hours per week. Therapist can also supplement hours by providing therapy at our clinic in Pittsburg.

Location: services will be provided throughout Contra Costa County, office in Pittsburg

Compensation: $30 per hour for fully licensed therapist. $23.50 per hour for license eligible staff.  $20 per hour for interns.

Child and Family Therapist

Contra Costa ARC is a non-profit human service agency dedicated to serving children at risk, and children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Lynn Center is Contra Costa Arc's Early Intervention Program and Preschool for children with special needs from birth to six years of age. New Beginnings is our program that provides services to children with significant social-emotional and/or behavioral concerns.

Qualifications: LCSW, MFT or Psychologist. We strongly prefer for applicants to be licensed or license eligible (supervised hours completed). Clinical supervision available for interns.

The therapist must have the ability and be willing to provide clinical assessment and intervention services in clinic or in the natural environment (home or school). Must have experience working with children under the age of six who may have experienced trauma, behavioral, and emotional problems. Must be open to a variety of treatment modalities tailored to meet the needs of the individual child/parents/family involved.  Work history should include case management, family work in the natural environment, outpatient individual play therapy, trauma, attachment, parenting skills, family counseling, and group work experience.

The therapist must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to interact collaboratively with other agencies and physicians.  Strong organizational skills.  Must be a flexible team player, willing to work as part of a treatment team utilizing support from the greater community.  Experience with Medi-Cal paperwork preferred.

Must meet State licensing requirements involving health screening and Department of Justice clearance.  California Driver's license, good driving record and use of a vehicle required (mileage reimbursement provided).

Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Salary consistent regardless of number of clients a week. We will also consider applicants with part-time preference.

Location: office in Pittsburg and will serve caseload from East and Far East Contra Costa County. Work will be primarily clinic based, but will include some home and community work.

Compensation: $30 per hour for fully licensed therapist. $23.50 per hour for license eligible staff.  $20 per hour for interns.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker or MFT interested in case coordination, assessment and facilitation

The Lynn Center is Contra Costa ARC's Early Intervention Program and Preschool for children with special needs from birth to six years of age. Lynn Center also provides therapeutic services for families with children up to age 18 and adults.

Lynn Center is hiring a LCSW or MFT to function as an Intensive Care Coordinator. The clinician will assess and provide services that are specific and individualized between providers, youth, and families that are designed to improve the likelihood of positive outcomes for children who are in the Children and Family Services and Behavioral Health system.

Primary responsibilities will be: Completing diagnostic assessments for children 0-5 who are in the foster care system with emphasis on stabilizing intensive mental health care needs which may jeopardize placement or require a higher level of care.  Provide facilitation, coordination of services, and care planning for urgent and time sensitive services for eligible clients. Working and partnering in home and community with youth, families, and service providers, including Children and Family Services.  May work with foster parents and/or biological parents also.

Completing Medi-cal eligibility paperwork and progress notes. 

Therapist can also supplement hours by providing Wraparound facilitation.

Location: primarily East Contra Costa County, office/clinic in Pittsburg. The position may require occasional travel to nearby counties.

Compensation: $30 per hour for licensed staff. $23.50 per hour for license eligible staff.
